Is
0.90 Carat Round Diamond better than 1 Carat diamond?
Are
you a smart diamond shopper?
Before
we begin, Prices in a free market are determined by supply and demand - the most
basic rule of economy. This is also true with the pricing of diamonds.
And
we all would go for the best value for our money.
Diamonds
are priced per carat. The price per carat of a 1 carat diamond is much
higher than the price per carat of a 0.90 carat diamond. Add to the fact 1
carat diamond is 10% heavier and you’ll get a serious increase in price.
This
makes us assume that a 1.00 carat diamond is bigger than a 0.90ct diamond,
which is not true.
However,
the real difference in size between these 2 stones is roughly 0.4mm. And if you
pick up a ruler and look at the subdivisions, a 0.4mm difference might not be
that big of a size difference
Carat
is a weight related measurement and does not mean size.
So if
we have a few diamonds ranging between .80 and 1 carat placed close to each
other, we may not be able to spot the difference in their sizes while their
values differ in thousands.
So, go
for a 0.90 carat diamond that will look like a 1 carat one.
So,
what do you think? Perception is more of a subjective matter than an objective
one. Some people see differences in sizes easily and some don’t. It is the same
with diamond colors where individuals can see clear differences between F and G
color diamonds whereas the majority of us don’t.
Go
for a carat size that’s “mind-clean” and affordable to your wallet. After all,
diamonds are purchases which are meant to be enjoyed instead of being something
that constantly frets you at the back of your mind.
Save
money and don’t compromise on the quality.
Hope
this would be really useful to you in saving your money on diamond purchase…
